COMMUNITY DESCRIPTION:
Damanhur is an eco-society and a federation of spiritual communities, nestled in the alpine foothills in the north of Italy, mainly in a beautiful green valley called Valchiusella. It counts about 1,000 people including 600 residents plus 400 other people who are closely connected to the project. Damanhur is multilingual and very active, with its own constitution, culture, art, music, currency, school, environmental stewardship and uses of science and technology. Many guests come to visit Damanhur every year and Damanhurians are happy to share their experiences and research in many fields. The community has attracted interest from scholars, educators and researchers in the fields of art, social sciences, spirituality, environmental sustainability, medicine and alternative health and economics.
